On life’s happenstance and technology: A Shing02 short film

Filed under 21st Century Fashion, November 16th, 2012 by Admin

I first knew Shing02 when I accidentally played a Youtube clip that combines hip-hop, jazz, classical and rap music, I first thought it was weird for a 2-month old baby, but later learned to love it since my oldest son keep abusing the replay button. Shing02 is a Japanese rapper and produces music in his genre which is rap and the like.

And another accidental moment with him was when I stumbled on this video at Vimeo, I didn’t know he’s into producing short films too, what captured me most was how relevant this short film is on how we live our lives with technology today.

I believe in life’s happenstance, this are these events in our lives that we thought we’ve arranged it but wasn’t really and they’re just pure chance circumstance. I know technology has somehow given each one of us a space, our own bounded space under the sun, but in some way also has distanced us and let us miss some of life’s splendid circumstance; I really  wish we go back to the time and space where books were our past time and not smartphones and headphones. That previous time was I think made us more human and sensitive with the things that happen around us.

Shing02 call this Then-and-Now. It’s a brilliant and witty composition. Watch here;

    the wonders of technology mommy Vernz. but whether we like it or not, technology has become a norms and we will for sure live the rest of our days with much smarter phones, high tech laptops and probably, a robot to do all our chores in the house… hehehe.

    Technology is an advantage and there is also disadvantages. But it us up to us to limit ourselves too. I prefer you tube over Vimeo. To think our life is surrounded by technology, how much more the next generations to come and the next after?

    technology can have a good and bad effect on us. It’s sad that we do old school way anymore. reading books in a traditional way is no longer used by many anymore because of the technology that provides virtual books and etc…

    There are a lot of things happened as technology progresses, however, there are some things we stopped doing too because of this. I don’t know if it’s good or not but so far it’s making us all connected.

    Technology improvement that is the reason why we are living in a techy world. I still prefer books over my celphone and laptop especially when I am in terminals or in long lines waiting for my turn. common scenario in airports and u can really compare the then and now.
